Best of British Manufacturing IT Awards 2007 Awards

The Best of British Manufacturing IT Awards 2007 presentation ceremony was staged at the Heritage Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire on 23 May 2007, during the Best of British Manufacturing IT conference.
Overall winner was Delta Design, part of Nicotech, based in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, which designs and manufactures xenon and LED warning beacons, sounders and other warning products. By changing to a new MRP/ERP system and, most important, renting that system from Rent-IT Systems, this company achieved a 30% reduction in paper processes, significantly improved lead times and on-time deliveries, cut errors by 50%, and reduced stock inaccuracies by 85%. Manufacturing Computer Solutions' annual Best of British Manufacturing IT challenge is aimed at recognising the very best IT strategies and implementations in British manufacturing industry. The Awards are about promoting the critical business value of IT, across functions and departments, in underpinning and enabling superior business processes, competitiveness and profitability for UK plc.
Projects were assessed by our senior panel of independent judges - consultants, analysts, practitioners and serving operations directors, who together have vast experience of industrial and business IT. They were looking for hard actual and/or expected ROI achievements as well as broad soft benefits leading to business improvements, cost-cutting and competitive advantage.
The Awards categories:
· Best ROI measures and benefits from IT in Manufacturing/Business Management
· Best ROI measures and benefits from IT in Supply Chain Management
· Best ROI measures and benefits from IT in Engineering Design and Development
· Best ROI measures and benefits from IT in Plant and Factory Improvement
Here are the 2007 Best of British Manufacturing IT Awards winners, runners up and highly commended manufacturers. All received their trophies not only for manufacturing and engineering business excellence through the use of good IT intelligently implemented, but for their achievements in terms of hard, measurable ROI and business benefits.
